Some dumb questions

I just received a 149 from a family friend, we just finished rebuilding the motor, in the process of rebuilding the 48 inch deck for it. (the original deck was rusted beyond repair) was looking around my home town and found a guy selling a snow blade for 1250, was wanting to know if it would work or not he wants $150 for it.(is that a fair price?) ( he also has a tiller but I think he wants a little to much for it, not saying a wouldn't love to have it, but $600 seems a little high.)

YES the snow blade will fit and YES that is a fair price.

Unless that Tiller is brand new, never been used, flawless paint job, in mint condition, I wouldn't pay $600.00 for it.

Dang $600 for the tiller? That's way high like Roland said. Prices will start going up in the spring time but not that high. In my area $300-$375 is the avg cost.

$150 sounds good for the blade,if it nice,i got mine for $50 because it had a lot of rust.As for the tiller,if it is a #1 or #1a tiller with both extensions,or a #2 and it is in good shape i would make a counteroffer of $350-400 if you really want it,but thats just me,im not afraid to offer what something is worth,or less. The worst he can say is no:biggrin2:

If the blade is in good shape, the price is right on. It's amazing the prices of things in different areas. I found my very nice #2 tiller for $150 a couple years ago and it had the gearbox also. Usually around this area, I see them go for $150-$300, depending on condition, #1vs#2, gearbox, etc. Looks like in your area, that is a high price. Good luck.

Well I just got an email from the seller, he says its a manual lift, can it be converted to one that will hook up to the hydraulic lift? if not I guess i will keep looking.

The tractor is manual or hydraulic lift, But as far as i know the blade is the same.
Somebody correct me if i am wrong.

Yep, the blade is the same. Only difference would be subframes, narrow or wideframe, and different lengths of the lift bar.

FYI these are not dumb questions. We're here to help ask away.
