149 suddenly no juice-HELP
Hello all,
I was enjoying a little seat time today pushing slush in the drizzling rain, when I suddenly hit a chunk of old ice from last week's storm and the blade slipped off the rockshaft. I turned off the motor, unhooked the lift arm from the tractor. The tractor started right up in the rain and I pulled the tractor into the garage and then dragged the blade into the garage. I hooked the blade back up OK, but when I tried to re-start the tractor...DEAD, I mean nothing, no click, the amp meter needle didn't move, nothing. I tightend up all the grounds I could think of, and checked all connections, seem OK. I went ahead and put the charger on the battery, but it started right up last week and today with no problem. The amp meter shows a charge while running. I believe the PO bypassed the seat safety switch, but I'm always sitting when I start it with the brake applied. The brakes do need adjusting, but I use the hydro to stop and go anyway. What are some likely culprits? Thanks in advance!! :bash2: I recently put a new plug and plug wire on. |
:bigthink:
Check the "Neutral Safety Switch" from the left pedal. Maybe the wires came off that switch. |
Thank you Mr. Bedell
You are da MAN!! The wire hadn't come off, but you led me to check the wiring diagram, so duhh, I had the PTO on, and just needed to to release it. I wouldn't have even known about the PTO safety switch!! all is well now, Thanks again, Marty:beerchug:
