Blade questions

I removed the 54" blade and installed the 42" blade. I used the same sub frame. My 42" blades seems to be higher on the right than left. With the blade down, I can see daylight on the right. (pics in tractor post "6" of snow"). How would I check the blade/ sub frame to make sure they aren't bent. (54" blade didn't have this problem). Also, both blades don't seem to go low enough. I do have the correct length lift rod. Should I remove the adjustment knob and bracket on the outside of the frame, ( the one used to control the cutting deck height)?
You can also see the snow stuck to the blade coated with E Z Slide.
Thanks

You have a different "A" frame on the 42 inch blade. Switch the "A" frame or just change the lift arm on the frame.

A frames should be the same. The lift bracket might be different though. That is what I would check.

There are different A frames and the lift arm are different. I have a couple A frames here that are different as they have a hydro angle kit on it and it has 3 extra holes for the piston bracket mounts. But the lift bracket should be in the same loaction. Wide frame and narrom frame lift brackets are different. You can use a wf one on a nf. the lift arm will hit the frame if you use a nf 1 on a wf.
Here is a picture of wf and nf blade. The v plow frame is for a nf and the 42 plows are for a wf. Notice the lift arm differences. The sisingal blade is a 82 blade. Notice the lift arm.

That is a wicked V blade, almost makes me want to make one now.

The lift arm is slotted. I was told it was for an 82 series, but would work with the OL. Front tires have correct air pressure. Guess I'll change the lift arm with the arm on the 54" blade and see what happens.

CD,
Making an adjustable 1 is the esiest way to do it. If you have an 82 series lift arm just try to score one of evil pay for a n/f. The 82 series lift arms are 5/8 and nf/wf are 1/2.

The V blade came with a 100 I bought. The guy had an apartment complext and did the side walks with it. I never used it and probaly wont. They did a nice job of making it but I would think you need a hydro lift to lift that thing up.

MMZULLO,
The A frames are physicaly the same for both the 42 and the 54 plows, except for the added holes for power angle kit.. . The only thing different would be the actual lift bracket.

CDLONG,
you can also just use a length of chain for your lift rod, if you don't have the actual rod.

Or you could use Roland's guide and have one for each blade.

JB,
Yes I know. I did say that in my post. I would just make a new lift rod.
