Rarest CCC and MTD cubs
I dont know much about these cubs. Or know where to start as far as these go. just thought it would be fun to know them.

I believe the 1772 diesels are rare. I was once told not only are they the rarest diesel, but also the rarest SGT. I've asked about production numbers for the 1772, but have never found out a concrete number. Hopefully someone here will know.

The thing that I have noticed is that if you are looking for a model it seems like that model is the rarest one. And right after you do find one and you pay more for it then you want. Those darn thing come out of the wood work and are selling for half what you paid in better shape.
That being said I would think that any diesel would be more rare with the 1772 being the rarest. (I want one soo bad) I figure the reason for that is the farmers in the 80's were having a hard time keeping food on the table and buying a new diesel mower was not a priority. |
Actually, I believe the 1050 is the rarest CCC-built GT. That's what Hank Will's book says, anyway. I think the 1340 is also pretty rare.

How about the CCC 1211? Just seems like one of those models you dont hear much about....

how about the 1806 ? I have only seen 2 in person and heard of one more.

Iowa Farmboy,
I kinda got lucky when I found my 1772. Wasn't really lookin' for one at the time. Price was very reasonable. Love the power steering. I do have to fix the drive shaft wobble . Keep your eyes peeled and you'll find one. |
Hey wild bill, do you think the red one Roland owns could be a factory misfit? I thought they quit makng the red ones when the line sold to CCC? or is it possible that they had red parts left over and threw them into the mix with a new serial number? This is why i like the rare ones, always a unique story behind them.:biggrin2.gif:

CCC produced red tractors for IH in addition to yellow and white tractors for itself until IH's demise in 1985. It is not a misfit; CCC probably built more red 82 series tractors than IH did.

Thanks Matt! I had no idea they did that.
