Has anyone ever tried using this push button starter from Tractor Supply?
it looks like the same as the one sold for the Cubs and it calls for a 1 3/4"
hole opening which should fit.Just curious...it cost 12.99.

Thanks,Bruce

I'm sure it would work and be a good quality part but the button sticks out about twice as far past the dash as a factory one.

You could make a shim for it so it doesn't stick out so far. Good find!!

Ive got one in my "O" it works just fine. It does stick out to far, but works just fine. Here's a picture so you can see what it looks like. Oh and it does use the same mounting holes.

I had a 100, that had the longer push button starter. Never had a problem with it.

I also have the same button on my "O" it works great.

I had that on my 100 that I restored. It worked great and was rated for 12V.

Capital idea! Simkey, I didn't think of that.

Did you try shimming this out? What is the advantage of this, just not turning the key?

A few of the early Cubs had a separate starter switch, rather than the 3-position key switch. (Off-run-start)
