front pto

I read in the manual for my 123 that its best to run the front PTO engaged or forward when not using any front PTO mounted equipment. I was just wondering if I read it right and if its sounds correct?

I read the same thing for my 125, why? I have no idea, unless it's to keep it loose. But someone will chime in soon.

It is to minimize the wear on the "thrust button".

When the PTO is engaged, no wear is occurring on either the bearing or the thrust button.
