2550 fenders cracking
 

Has anyone else had the fenders crack on their 2500 series? Mine split across the front near where the seat pivot bolts go thru.:censored::censored:: It does have braces under the fenders, but
they aren't big enough to help and it has split just in front of the braces/ reinforcements.:Mad1::Mad1:

I haven 't heard of that. What year 2550 and do you have any pics?

Its a 06 model, has actually been trouble free other than a few bizarre problems bolts snapped off back up linkage at 8 hrs, seat base broke off, but that was common I quess as cub cadet sent me a new one when I called them about fender problem. I told them that my dealer had taken care of seat base back when I had that problem and now it was the fenders, but as they say, there hasn't been a problem with the fenders since before the 05 model I am on my own. Looking it over I think that part of the problem is that the foot boards also put weight on fenders and a big boy like me stepping up on them is not helping.
I don't have any pictures as I have already started the repair but will try to get some after I get things welded up. Might try and get a few upgrades done while it's torn down and the snow is rearend deep.:biggrin2.gif:

I'll have to check under mine at how the footrest attaches to the frame. I've done some things under there, but never really looked too good at it. The only problem I've had on my '09 2544 was with the hood mounts snapping. That happened with less than 1 hour on it. Stupid plastic hood... I have heard of some issues with the seat mount cracking, but again, nothing with the fenders. I have saw a guy who's in the process of taking a newer Cub GT, 2000 series and putting WF fenders, hood, nose on it. It looks good so far. So maybe you can go retro on it. :)

There are a few supports straight to frame but the fenders bolt to the back of the floor pan and any weight toward back of floor pan will pull on front of fenders. I would like to see one done retro, sounds cool.
