123 weight
anyone happen to know how much weight you can put on the rear of a 123 hydro? just finishing gearin it up to move snow.
|
I was wondering if filling your tires with liquid and wheel weights would be enough?
|
was thinkin of that. someday wheel weights for sure. as of now i have just welded a braket together to attach to the back of the cub that holds solid concrete blocks close to 100 to 125 pounds.

i got 200 pounds of weight on the back of my 1450 for snowblowing. i'm only 155 pounds though.

I have 200 pound concrete weight on the back, a 60 pound concrete weights on each of the wheels, and the tires have about 50 pounds of washer fluid in them. So, 420 pounds of added weight. Now, I just need more horsepower.

One of my 123's has loaded 6-12's with chains and that's all, I weigh in about 150, my Brother a little more and my Daughter quite a bit less (I know "what's good for me" so my wife is off limits in this particular thread) it pushes snow great no matter who's operating it.
I'm sure however, that we don't get the kind of snow here that you guys get there, so you may need a little more weight. I find that narrow front tires make a huge difference, not so much with forward traction but along the lines of maneuverability. I do have others with blades and different sized tires and chains, but I really prefer narrow turfs and chains to anything else. Going to try my 149 with loaded ag's and one pair of IH weights this year but I'm betting it will spend most of the winter setting, until I put a pair of loaded turfs and chains on it. |
