couple parts questions
 

I was wondering if a k301 and a k321 have the same connecting rod? Both are cub motors with the deep oil pan. And is a kt17 opposed twin air cleaner the same as a 169 air cleaner or would it bolt onto a 12 horse? I Would like to get the bigger air cleaner for my 128 to make it look stronger

The rods are probably the same. Check the parts lookup to be sure.

The KT-17 air cleaner is slightly different than the 169 air cleaner, but from a distance it's hard to spot the difference. I think the 169 air cleaner seals all the way around the edge and has 2 holes in the bottom of the outer cover. The KT-17 doesn't seal around the bottom. I had a KT-17 air cleaner on the 128 I used to own. You have to weld up the hole for the breather hose.

but otherwise the plate that bolts to the carb will bolt to the 12 horse carb?

From the parts lookup, the 12, 14 and 16 hp kohler engines share ESSENTIALLY the same con-rod. The only difference is that the 341 rod has a narrower piston end. Same length, wrist pin diameter and crank diameter. I am going to assume (I know) that the difference was due to the beefing up of the piston skirts?

This was also confirmed by actual measurements taken of these rods at my house.
