getting the Ih CC ready for winter.....
Well, I have a Sunpro ammeter that I would like to hook up under the hood of the 71.Thats going to be fun. Next I have a grote light to add to the rear. Going to put back my wheels that are original to my tractor, add the wheelweights and the IH 42" push blade. Looking on the fourm on the best way to wire the ammeter to the 71. Also would like to identify my wheelweights. Going with the 2 link 6-12 tire chains too. I think the narrow tires get more traction, but never had a problem there. I need more cubbys so I dont have all this monkey changing around. But it is fun anyways. Looks like I'll be the monkey tommrow if I cant get the wireing down! HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!!:American Flag 1:

Here is a link. I know how but not sure how to explain it. Best I can do is the meter goes inline between the battery and generator-alt. I only use volt meter nowdays as most autos use this and if the meter dies or the wiring gets old it does not kill the engine. |
I'd recommend the voltmeter, as well...it's easier to wire up and tells you more than the ammeter does.

Volt meter? ok. So another words, I should hook this amp. meter to my push mower! LOL! Going to make up something decient for mounting. Read the manual too, but found in the library by RBedell...was more helpful! "70/100 Amp.meter option". neg. to B post of volt reg.,hot to hot side of starter swich, have a fuse link, 20amp. glass, is that too much? Thanks again OCC! That was a great read by Matt G. on "Kohler K Series Static Timing Procedure w/ vom." I should see about the volt meter as well, how that gets wired.

Turns out I do have a voltmeter and not a amp.gauge. The hardest part was to figure where I wanted to mount the voltmeter. No wires hooked up. Grote light is mounted, original wheels back on, push blade on, and the wheelweights that I forgot to weigh. I dont know what they are. :Cub3:

Thanks! Needed it when I'am backing up to go into the shed at night. Should do the trick. Have some more picts. comming.....so now I need to make sure that I wire the vm up correctly...not sure yet! I would love to have the ag's all around, but enbelievably my tires are still in pretty nice shape! New tire chains comming also. Was happy with the mounts. Here is another pict. od the grote light mount.

One lead to the "B" terminal on the Ign Switch or to the ( - ) terminal of the Amp Gauge.
The other lead to Chassis Ground. |
