Got a 147

Picked up this 147 yesterday, its in rough shape but it has all of the parts I need to build my pulling tractor, the 14hp motor (maximum limit for the class I want to be in), notched frame to fit the 14hp motor, and 23x10.5x12 tires and wheels. I will be transplanting all of the other parts from my 102 and essentially create a 142.

Now on the back of the transaxle, I know this is part of a sleeve hitch but is it complete? I've never seen or used one before so I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at.

All of the parts I don't need are for sale in the For Sale section of this site.

That's not a sleeve hitch, that's the IH 3-point, and it's missing the lower bracket.

Ok, how hard is the lower bracket to obtain? Its just a U shaped piece of flat stock with holes drilled in it right? Possibly something I could make.

Does anyone have the number of 147s made? If its fairly low I might just keep this one and restore it.

They made 15,678. I would restore it.

That one definitely needs to be restored and kept :) Nice find. Headlights and 3 point lift. you can find the lower two point at any of the above sponsors or of course Epay. They aren't that expensive.

Ugh, you guys talked me into not parting it out. This thing is going to be one PITA though. From talking with the previous owner it sounds like its been sitting for the past 25 years. I spun the motor by hand and on the first revolution there was resistance but now there isn't, so I think one or both of the valves are stuck. There's also probably enough mouse bedding in there to fill a 5 gallon bucket. For some reason the fenders aren't bolted down and the lower 3 point hitch bracket is gone so I don't think the rear end is original, I just hope there isn't a problem with it.

I think your doing the right thing. Even being parked that long the metal looks to be a really good shape. You needed something to keep you out of trouble right? I think you've found it.

Hah, I have plenty of things to keep me busy. I have the engine out of my 122 and half apart at the moment. The only problem is I have no garage to work out of until I graduate in May and its getting cold out!

It even has wheel weights - and the electric lift is still there. Nice find.

Good find on the 147. Maybe, someone will buy the whole tractor. That way, you won't have to part it out.
