Hyd. release lever not working, and need info on transmission
 

Hello all, I'm new to this forum as well to these tractors. I just got this Quietline 1450 with a mower deck and snow-blower attachment. I am cleaning it and painting it. But have two issues.
#1) There is a lever going into the "Frame Cover" that puts pressure on two check valves "buttons" (of the Power Lift unit) so it can be moved when power is off. I have the frame cover, and the lever. but not the part that would actually push down on the buttons of the valve. Does anyone have a picture of what this should look like?
#2) When I push/pull the Handle that is to control the Hydraulic lift, nothing happens. In fact, I seem to be able to rotate this handle 360degrees. Is there a shear pin or something that is supposed to prevent this from happening. It was working a little originally, but now does not seem to raise/lower the mower deck at all???

I've only one pic of this tractor, and will try to include it. I also have manuals "Service Manual #GSS-1464. Rotary Mower Oper. Man #1-084-372-R1 12-74, and Operator Manual #1-084-355-R1 11-74.

With the handle in the Down position, it allows the Hydro Unit to power the tractor and hydro lifts.

With the handle in the Up position, the flapper on the under side of the cover, depresses the manual type Relief Valve buttons, thus creating a bypass relief pressure on the hydro unit. This will allow you to push/pull the tractor around.

Thanks for the warm welcome. That image is what I was looking for, wasn't sure how it was supposed to press down on the valves. My unit has the shaft but not the curved metal plate to press on the "buttons".

Would you have a picture showing that plate from the side. I'm trying to get a feel for its shape, because I will try to duplicate it to repair my unit. Not sure if something like that is available used or new, so will try to duplicate it!

Anyone have any idea's on the #2 issue, as to why the Hydraulic Lift lever rotates without moving the deck up/down. Is there an cotter pin, roll pin, other method to connect that lever to the valve?

There's about 3 different styles of the linkage for that lever. One has an arm that's roll-pinned on (sucks to fix) and then there are two clamp-on variations. If you have one of the latter you should be able to just reposition the handle and then tighten it.

My unit has the arm and a roll pin (offset, i.e. located near the end. So I guess that is the version I need. I'm deciding to try to make one to save a few bucks. I assume the roll pin holds it in place, and fixes it so when the lever is moved it won't just turn. i.e. the roll pin keeps the plate fixed relative to the lever.

Thanks for the part number, now I have a better idea on what I"m looking for and its cost. Another thought occurred to me. Is it possible to just put in the automatic version of the valve?

there is a place here in w.Michigan that has check valves for a reasonable price. Roland is the one who found it. Maybe he'll weigh in and give the name and address. Meanwhile, I'll try and find it.
