Engine Trouble cub 122
 

Here is my issue with my 122, it has a new rebuilt motor straight from machine shop, runs strong, no starting issues,smoke etc, idles very well. However this is the problem I have. When I switch out of 1st gear to 2nd or 3rd, I sometimes loose power and the motor dies. And it sometimes keeps power but the RPM's go down and so does the throttle even when I keep it the same as I did in first gear. However, if I keep the tractor in 1st gear it runs with the best of them. also when in N such as coasting downhill it will loose power, any suggestions will be helpful. Thanks,

Two things come to my mind. Check the Carburetor and Governor settings and adjust as per the engine service manual.

Definitely check the Governor setting. Simple procedure.
