Deck grease fittings
 

How do you install the drive in fittings on my 109s deck spindles? One is missing.

A small socket that fits over the "bulb" of the fitting, but not the base, and a hammer. Tap it in until the fitting bottoms out.

If the "press-in" fitting fails to stay in place and if the spindle is the type that can be dissassembled so the "chips" can be cleaned out, drill and tap the hole for 1/4"-28 (fine thread). SAE grease fittings are available with that thread size.

I had to do this on the front axle kingpin fittings, worked great!
