Length of bolts needed...

I was wandering if anyone knows the length of bolts I'lll need to run wheel weights on the inner and outer side of rear wheel?? I think johncub made a comment about running weights on the inside and out:biggrin2.gif:

just measure to get a rough idea then buy some long carrage bolts and cut them

The length of the bolt depends on the width of the wheel...

I would guess that the bolt should be just a little longer than the overall width of the wheel (providing you're using IH cast iron weights).

It's a 71 with 12 x 6's and using IH cast weights, will get a measurement tomorrow and see what I come up with.

I would say 6" or 7" should do it. If the bolts hang out too much and you think that you might scrape your legs, then reverse them using washers agains the wheel weight with the nut end going to the inside of the rim.

1/2" carriage bolts recomended.....

As for your length, You make the choice with what all to run. You should not pay more than a 1.50/ pound, at the hardware or TSC. I got 10" hardware for about 7 bucks??? at TSC.
