105 V/R battery terminal wire melting
I'm a newbie to Cub but a veteran at restoring everything from metal lathes to Radios, Edison Cylinder players, Bobcats ect..... Now a Cub 105 with a wiring problem where the engine will not shut off with the key, it sounds like it's dieseling and the "Bat" terminal wire on the V/R get so hot it melts only after the key is turned off while trying to kill the tractor. Any ideas??? New starter generator, new V/R, new ignition switch all installed. :BangPC::BangPC:

I bought a 122 a few years ago and the batt wire on the V/R was disconnected, when I went to put it on, the S/G began to turn the engine over. I didn't go ahead and hook it up, I believe the problem was that it was the wrong V/R.
I would check the wiring carefully, make sure everything is in the right place and then open the V/R to make sure it isn't stuck or burnt. My best guess would be it's the wrong V/R. |
First, welcome to our Forum............ :Welcome2:
(A) Is the tractor wired that same as the Wiring Diagram....... Wiring Diagram...?? (B) Are all the Electrical Parts factory original or factory replacements....no aftermarket parts..?? |
Wiring is to spec and it matches wiring schematic. If the V/R has the same terminals as the old one, could it still be the "Wrong one" ? How can you tell which is the right one?:beerchug:
