engine swapping
OK Guys;
Another odd question, will the engine from a 100 or a 102 be a bolt in swap into a Cub Cadet Original. Now feel free to tell be all about. Cadet Farmer |
Yes, you will have to drill a hole for the drain plug and also either drill the thread out or take the welded on motor nuts that are on the uderside of the frame off.. I have one mounted in my CCO

Very nice looking Original. Where did you mount your fuel tank? |

Good call, YS I spaced mentioning that! :bash2: cadetfarmer, You're going to have to do that also. It is going to be VERY tight but it does work.. Basically I picked up another CCO tank mount and some strip stock. I tried to not modify any of the original parts so it would hold being complete as possible for the K161 when it is re-built. Here you go, this should give a pretty good idea. It uses the VR existing holes in the battery box. You will (should) either mod or fab up a new battery hold down strap also. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...s/100_0431.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...s/100_0432.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...s/100_0435.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...s/100_0437.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...s/100_0439.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...s/100_0440.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...s/100_0441.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...s/100_0433.jpg Sorry to load your thread up with pics, but they are the best answer I can give :biggrin2.gif: |
great job, most of the time pics are better than words!

Thanks
Gazoriginal;
Nice pics, they tell me everything I needed to know. I haven't bought the Original yet. It is about an hour drive from me, and in a very safe place, where it won't be found unless you know the man who owns it (who is a good freind of mine). I want to find out how much of it is still there before I try to buy it. Thanks again; Cadet Farmer:bigthink: |
Bill,
As far as I'm concerned, you can have all the Originals in Missouri - I'll take the wide frames (especially the 82 series).:Cub6::Cub7::Cub8: |
Jay, that's some awesome workmanship! :beerchug:
