Cub Cadet 129 w/ Hydro Lift
1 Attachment(s)
I have been wanting to install a ported pump and hydro lift on my 1250.....then I found this parts 129 (at least I think it is a 129, he said it has a K301) for $75.00.
I know I can do this, but is there a reason I shouldn't just put the whole rear and hydro pump out of this in my 1250, or should I switch the pump only? |
personally I would just change the pump...It would give you good reason to give everything inside a good look, and also change out the hy-trans and gaskets right away...

I finally got the 129 home, and I am pretty sure I want to keep the lift on and use it.
So I tried it to see if it would at least fire with starting fluid (because the gas tank is off), I had to use jumper cables because some of the wiring under the dash is broke. It did have spark, but It won't even try to fire, anyone have ideas? |
You gotta start checking stuff...that could be dozens of things. I would fix the wiring, get a gas tank on it, rebuild the carb, make sure it has compression, and THEN try to start it.

Yes, but I am just trying to hear it fire, not run. And it does have compression. |
Even tho my 1250 was showing some spark, it took a new coil to actually get it to fire and run. I took the one from my 128 that I knew was working and put it on the 1250 and it fired right up. You might take a coil from a running tractor and try it.

I would still rebuild the carb and get a temporary gas tank on it so you can definitely rule out a fuel problem. The idea is not to see if you can get it to fire/run with as many problems as possible, it's to fix the known problems so you can fix the unknown problems...
