3 Spindle 48" Deck Blade Upgrades
 

Hey all,

I am starting to get my 125 into weekly mowing rotation. The blades are worn and due for replacement. I was hoping to use mulching blades on it. I went to Oregon's website and ordered a 16" and 17" Gator blades as the closest match to the OEM 17.66" and 16.03" blades; however, due to the downward bend of these blades, the extend past the bottom of the deck sides and actually hit the runner bars. This deck has 3/4 spindles. I am wondering if I should try a 11/16" spindle blade and use a step drill if I need to.

Should I return these and get an Oregon 100 series mulching blades or am I stuck using OEM style blades? My goal was to get the clippings to be smaller.
