Oregon G6 mulching blade

Been looking at the Oregon mulching blades. On my mower I need qty 3, 17” blades with 3/4” mount hole. I would like to get the G5 blade since it’s thinner, but they don’t make it with that mounting hole. They do make the G6, but I’ve heard because the thickness of that blade you need more than typical horsepower. I’ve got a Kohler 22 hp.

Anybody have the same set up with the G6? If so what were your results?

Not exact same setup, but I've ran the G6 blades on previous and current mower without issue. Love the gator blades. Both mowers are green, and one with 62" deck, current with 60" deck. 21" length of blade on current mower, and leave a clean cut, and only leave a windrow if i wait too long between mowings. old mower was 24hp Kawi, current has 25hp Briggs.

My mower is 48”. I was informed by Oregon that there is no HP specification for the G6, but a rule of thumb for this blade is 24-25Hp+. So, my mower is obviously few Hp below the minimum.

I’m curious if anyone that’s basically “under “ the minimum is having success or not.

I ran the Gator blades for years. I switched to high lift blades last year and I get a better cut with these blades.

Per the Oregon spec the G5 and G6 are high lift. What are you running?

I am using the ones in this thread.
