Kohler M18S governor part number
 

Can anyone please help me with the correct part number for my 1810 engine parts.
It has a Kohler M18S Spec #24506 engine on it and I am fairly certain the governor failed so I need the correct part number for that governor part. My local shop has it for repair but they say that their parts supplier shows NO stock on the governor but when I start looking around I can find several versions of the governor available for sale.
While l have them working on it I'll also have them do a general overhaul of the engine. The Cub itself is in pretty good shape so i want to get it running again.

Assuming you are talking about the governor gear, FWIW my M18 parts manual shows Spec 24506 governor gears are in Group 17, page 41 with a variation number of 26.
That page shows governor gear kit is p/n A-235743-S (gear + washer),
or 52 042 03 (gear only)

Kinda sad that you have a repair shop that doesn't know how to look up a part.
