Hydro Control Mechanism
My 147 hydro control became rusted solid. I got it out and resolved that issue, and now in the process of putting it back together. My question is, with the control assembly disconnected from hydro, how much drag should there be at the lever...how tight should that 1-1/16 friction nut be?
Thanks in advance! Rick |

Thanks for that. Now... can anyone explain page 2-63 step "b"... "Place a small wedge or key stock of proper size between the mounting bracket and the adjusting nut. Refer to foldout at back manual." I don't understand the purpose of this step? Rick |
Thanks for the link!

They are saying "you ain't gonna get no wrench on this nut, so find something that fits to jam it in place to keep it from rotating."
Then when you move the control lever you will either loosen or tighten the nut's pressure on the friction disc's. |
