Put my old 1000 back into service
Hi folks. Been a while since I've been on the forum. My old Quiet Line 1000 has been in the garage with the snow blade on it for the last 6 or 8 years, only to get used once or twice every other year. My yard in town wasn't large enough to warrant using the tractor, so I'd been using the Makita electric self propelled.
So now I bought a larger place with a larger yard, and put the mower deck back on, bought a spare set of belts, and did the first cut. There's about 40 min on the tractor, and about the same with the push mower. There's a steep hill in back, so ags & wheel weights are a must. The two of them did well. I'm glad I kept my 1000. Now, with another 2.5 car garage to go along with the one I already have, I may look for a 2nd machine to just leave the snow plow on. And: I will add ... it was a beast for 2 days when we had a major blizzard at the end of last winter. I plowed our whole street and intersection to the main road, where the village plow left much to be desired. No chains, just the ags & weights. So, here's my new yard, my new garage, my new tree, and my old Cub Cadet. Cheers. P.S. Does anyone know if "CubCrazy" Mike is still on here and still selling parts in PA? Thx. "Cubcrazy" Mike...
Congratulations on your new home purchase and to the resurrection of your old Cub!
FYI...Just bought a grille insert for my 1864 from "Cubcrazy" Mike. He is still selling and is still located in PA. Parts are of excellent quality and he is very nice to deal with! :biggrin2: |
Looks great!:American Flag 1:

Thanks folks.
Glad to hear that Mike is still in business. Been more than 5 years since I've talked to him. I know he was always busy, and running around buying tractors. I'll try calling him again. |
