XT1 just clicks when starting

Club Cadet XT1 worked fine, then after a couple months sitting all it does is click when key is turned.
Installed new battery, new solenoid, Led display says 12.7 volts, when key is turned it is showing 12.7 volts to the starter with a tester.
Came from battery with jumper cables to starter and it tried to start, I guess the starter is good.
Used a test light and have power and ground to the starter but just clicking when key is turned.
Any ideas? Thanks

One thing to do is clean your ground. Make sure the ground cable in the back is clean and the frame it connects to is bare metal. I think it connects back by where the solenoid is.

RESOLVED:
I unhooked the solenoid and grinded the surface and sanded the area on both sides, made sure no paint was visible. Mounted the solenoid back on making sure the surface was touching bare metal, lawnmower fired right up.

Thank you evhevh for pointing me to a ground issue

Very common issue on the XT's is bad grounding. I suggest adding a dedicated 8 awg wire from the battery ground at the frame up to your engine block. This will make a big improvement on the overall electrical system.
