Gear lube for PTO gear box , 2001 Cub 3240 ?

I have a 2001 Cub 3240 with a PTO shaft driven mower deck, (54") What is the recommended lube to use for the gear box? How full should the box be filled ? Since it's sealed does it even need lube added ? -Thanks

IIRC, there should be 2 plugs on it. The lower one to drain it and an upper to check the level. I pull the covers off of mine and inspect the inside and fill it. I'm thinking I used the same oil as this person did in this post.

Thanks ! I had a quart of 80W90 gear lube on hand I use for the lower unit on a small outboard. I filled it to the bottom of the top hole and it seems to run fine.
