Hello All! New CC 7254 owner here!
Hello All!
Thank you all for letting me join your informative community! I just picked up a "Fun Project" in the past month. There was a 7254 with a 610 loader on marketplace that caught my attention. It was in quite the shape, half torn apart, missing bolts, parts and hacked up in interesting ways but for 800 I had to take the chance. I been wanting to get a little tractor for quite a while to do little tractor stuff :-) . Since then, 80 bucks of bolts later, I got the hydrostat back together and I am off to tractor supply tomorrow to get a couple hundred bucks of hoses, couplers, and oil to fire it up for the 1st time in 10 years! That all said, excited to be here and add to the community knowledge! Have a couple questions myself as I attempt to acquire / jerry rig some of the no longer acquirable parts that the poor girl is still missing! Happy Friday all! Have a great weekend. Cheers, Blake https://i.postimg.cc/BQDkJcjJ/20260122-101605.jpg[ https://i.postimg.cc/mkV4jY7c/20260122-085552.jpg |
The issue with the old Cub Cadet compacts can be part availability. When they left production, new parts were not produced for them. So you might find machine-specific parts are no longer available for them from Cub Cadet.
It wasn't until the Yanmar-produced Cub Compacts that you could still get parts for Compacts many years after being produced. So good luck with the 7254; you're going to need it. That said, they were decent small compact tractors when they were in production. |
From the look of it and what you mention is missing, It might have been used as a "donor tractor" to keep another one operating.:bigthink:

Thanks for the welcome and good luck wishes guys!
I purchased it mainly for the adventure which it definitely has been! Outside of missing bolts, valves, and the steering hydraulic arm, its now 100% complete and back together and running! Not moving or driving the auxiliary pumps which is a bummer but that's my research topic for the week! Guess I shoulda mentioned that I have the seat, hood, and all of the plastics that were hacked off. They are in a pile outside of the camera view :-) |
Wishing you the best of luck, and having the assumed missing parts is a plus. :beerchug:
