3 point hitch
 

Hi all. New member based in Ireland. I'm the proud new owner of what I have found out is a 1772 with a 50' deck. I'd be surprised if there was another 1772 in the entire country.

My question relates to the addition of a hitch, ideally a 3 point hitch to allow me to add implements in the future (I'm thinking mainly of a plough and harrow but also a small trailer). My tractor has the flimsiest little "L" bracket on the rear which appears to be how they rolled out of the factory. I've searched the forums and am a bit overwhelmed by the variations and different options so I'll lay it out as simple as I can:

Are there hitches commercially available which are fairly "plug and play" for the 1772? (Manually liftable options are also fine).

What you see under the seat is the take off point for a rear live PTO model
It is/was an optional kit that was available for your Super Cub as was the rear 3 point Cat 0 lift, model 383, currently available aftermarket.
Here is a list of what was available for these machines when new.

If You want an OEM 3 Point Hitch finsruskw is the Guy to contact he builds them to just beyond OEM specs I don't Know what shipping would be from Iowa, USA to Ireland though.

There Might be a few companies In Europe that still make 2000RPM attachments. In the States we Have Befco at least for tillers at the Bottom of the List https://befco.com/till-rite-t30-rotary-tillers/ They could be converted to Cat 0 :ThumbsUp:

Bill Ruegg made them at one time (no sure if he still does) but they are kinds pricey. I think I paid $550 or $600 for this one 14 years ago. The cheapest attachment you can get here in the states is a used Cat 0 plow for around $250-$300.

But https://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/member.php?u=8310 adds an extra top hole in the rocker-shaft lift arms to give you more lift height, which is something Aaron adds to his Xtreme Modified Cat 0 Hitch.

But thanks to both Aaron from Xtreme and Bill Ruegg, my Cub Cadet 2182 has a limited Cat 1 3-point hitch besides the standard Cat 0.

But I think Dave's carbon copy could allow me to add Bill Ruegg's Limited Cat 1 3-point Arms to Dave's version of the standard OEM Cat 0 if I were looking at finding a 2000 RPM rear PTO, as Aaron's version from Xtreme doesn't allow use of the 2000 RPM rear PTO, which I currently have Aaron's version on my Cub Cadet 2182 Super. :ThumbsUp:

Thanks for the responses folks. Allowing for shipping from the states this is an expensive proposition.

It probably won't be as bad as you think because it can be flown and not shipped in a shipping container. I helped get a John Deere tractor-mounted snowblower shipped to Sweden several years ago, and it was under $1,000 USD, and that 44-inch blower is not a small item trucked from Illinois to a port in Texas, about 1,234 miles, and put on a ship for Sweden (Texas to Sweden 4,360 nautical miles). And Ireland is a Lot closer :ThumbsUp:

Sold one of my kits to, a fellow in Germany 2 years ago.
Shipping was in 2 boxes, each near 50#.
USPS was $582
Plus the receiver had duties and other expense on his end.
Not to mention bank transfer fees that I had to eat as well.

The 3point is worthwhile I would not bother with the rear pto. I have it on my 2182 and used it once or twice in the last 20 years. the rear tiller is about the only useful item that needs it and they are extremely hard to find. The shaft spline and output speed are unique to these. I think Massey or wheel horse had a tiller cat0 and 2000 rpm pto that was the same. The 3 point is on the same ram as the front/mid ( deck) lift so if you cannot easily have two implements at once. I installed an electric cylinder as my upper arm on the 3 point so I can lift and lower a back blade semi independent of the snowblower.
