trans leak on 782d
when you face the tractor from standing behind it on the right side of the trans there is a bunch of oily grass and dirt stuck to the trans right below the hydro pump. I have not seen any hytran under it but I think its a slow leak any idea on what seal or o ring that would be leaking from I just figured while I have the engine out now would be a good time to fix it, thanks.

Possibilities for right side.... relief valves on top, trunion seal (much easier to replace than left side), cork gasket where pump mates the tranny/ rear end. Maybe the auxiliary hydraulics lines.
Seems to me I wouldn't quite worry about that leak unless you have some oil drips regularly on floor or the dirt/ grass buildup is really "wet" |
its not the relief valves I had one leak on my IH 782 and that left a giant puddle
I was thinking it could be the cork gasket, where is the trunnion seal idk where that is and I was wondering in case it gets worse right now it isn't very bad I will have to pressure wash the side and see where its leaking from. |
Horizontal left- right shaft near top of pump behind the relief valves. The shaft is part of the forward/back motion where the linkage is connected on left side. Right side seal is easy to change without pump disassembly. Left side is "Oh, shit!".
The seals would only leak if tractor is running.... just like the relief valves. |
