Lawn overseeding
4 Attachment(s)
We had a hot, dry summer here in the western NY area (near Buffalo) that took its toll on most everyone's lawns. Back in August, I decided to over seed my lawn to get it looking better, much like it was five years ago when I last over seeded.
I gave the lawn a haircut and had it aerated and seeded professionally. I did all the work myself last time and decided it was too much work for me this time, due to health concerns. I did do all the watering necessary for a month to get the seed germinating though... Here are a few pictures of the lawn, about six weeks after over seeding... |
Gorgeous lawn and property!
I'm just east of Springfield, MA and we've had maybe 1/4" of moisture since the beginning of June. Needless to say our lawn is pretty thrashed and in tough condition with lots of large bare patches. I had to stop watering the turf in August because we've been in drought conditions. So a lot less seat time on the 782 this past summer. Really hoping for plenty of rain in November however. |
From the looks of the national weather map this morning, it looks as if you are going to get your rain and then some!!

Lawn overseeding
Cut the lawn and picked up leaves Wednesday. Rain started that evening and continued through Friday morning. Checked the rain gauge...2 3/4 inches!! I wish we had more rain when I over seeded the lawn. Just paid my last water bill...$338.00!!!
The lawn in the back probably won't be cut again for a while due to the lower and mostly flat terrain keeping it wet. Leaves are just starting to fall in the front...lots of seat time ahead picking them up! :biggrin2: |
