Winding down the summer mowing

I figure I shoot some pics of the 123 before it goes in to slumber for the winter.
When do you stop mowing? |

Spring has sprung down here Oz |
It has been dry that the growing had been slowing. One more grass cut after three week slumber before the leaf blower comes out.

I think I've got one more low left this year, but then again they are calling for rain this weekend...

Nice looking 123 Lew!
I just cut grass with my 126 yesterday. I’ll keep going until it stops growing. Almost time to put the bagger back on my 1440 and start leaf cleanup. |
I don't stop mowing until the leaves are up sometime in November.
I am already getting some machines ready for winter, though. Just bought a Haban Blade for MY 2182 from Cub Cadet Used Parts. That just got a paint job, and I'll have it as one of my winter machines. But it will probably carry the Haban Blade year-round from now on anyway. For any dozing projects  |
It's really dry here in Southern Wi.,the leaves are starting to fall, so we mow, chop and pick up with a pull behind sweeper.I block off the deck with some chain links to help contain and chop the leaves. What doesn't get picked up,is good for the lawn.My 125 works hard, but that's the way it was designed. Hopefully middle of November, the old girl goes into hibernation.

Try mowing over the leaves backwards. I don't know why its better but its better. I haven't pulled a sweeper for years. Get a row of leaves going then hit it backwards.
