XT2 Enduro crank but no start

Kohler 7000 series KT735 carbureted.
I mowed the yard then rinsed the deck with the deck clean attachment. I then rinsed the entire machine like I've done for 4 years. I let it dry for a few hours and went out to put it away.

It will crank but not start. I tried with starting fluid. I've changed the spark plugs. I've changed the coils. It has spark and it has fuel.

I'm thinking a sensor or something went bad. Anyone ever had this happen before?
I live out in the country about an hour away from any service type place.

Check the solenoid on the bottom of your carburetor. When the key is turned to the on position, you should feel it "click" at the bottom of the carburetor. If you don't hear it or feel it (hand on the carb), the solenoid is bad. When it clicks it opens the feed for fuel to be drawn up by the carb.

It won't even start with starting fluid.

What I would do next is remove a spark plug and spray starting fluid directly into one of the cylinders. Replace spark plug and see if it starts. That helps confirm if you might have a intake valve issue. I realize this is a two cylinder engine and the odds both cylinders have an intake valve issue would be unheard of...

You might also want to check your flywheel key and make sure for some reason it is not sheared. Again, based on your description it is hard to understand how this could happen. But if it is off time, that would be a reason you would not get a pop off of directly squirting starting fluid into and engine that has spark.

It got one pop with starting fluid sprayed in plug hole, but nothing else.

Ok, does yours have two cylinders or one? I thought it had two, but your responses make it sound like 1. I bet you have a valve issue. Take off your valve cover and check valve lash and make sure one hasn't gotten so loose that it has fallen off the push rod.

I had a similar experience with Kohler Courage engine on Cub LT1045.
