Hydraulic mower lift belt 1967, 123 mower.
 

Hi everyone, need help on how to change the deck hydraulic lift belt on my 1967 123 cub cadet mower. How do you remove the shaft in the middle of the engine pulley. Sorry, newby to cub cadet mowers.

You have to unbolt the engine and slide it forward enough to remove the belt. Then slide it back after you change the belt. You may also have to remove the front casting and hood, depending on your muffler, so you have enough room. Now You Know why the Narrow frames went to the electric lift. Because it a PIA to change the Hydraulic lift belt :ThumbsUp:

Unbolt the back two engine bolts toward the operator. Then, use a jack to jack up the front of the cub under the grill casting just high enough to allow the front axle to freely float up and down. Secure the back tires of your tractor for safety. Now gently rock the front axle down on one side and remove the engine bolt just above the axle. Repeat on the opposite side of the cub. Carefully tilt the engine forward as you maneuver the belt between the engine and driveshaft. That will allow you to set the belt into the pulley. That's it!
