60" deck spindle rebuild?
2 Attachment(s)
I have a 2018 Pro Z 160 and the last few times I mowed the deck sounded funny with the blades running. I removed the deck this morning and the center spindle needs replacement or new bearings.
This is what is shown for replacement on the CC website when I search my model number and the next picture is the top of my removed spindle. Has anyone replaced bearings in this type spindle? It looks like an upper and lower sealed bearing that are joined or connected with a tube that is pressed into both bearing inner races. I ordered a new spindle assembly but would like to rebuild this for a spare as the pulley and shaft are in good condition. Any insight on rebuilding this type spindle would be appreciated. |
Not knowing that specific spindle but it looks like unbolt that plate and push out the bearings
Remember when putting in new sealed bearings to remove the inner seal so grease can lube the bearings There is heaps of info on here about rebuilding and types of bearings for spindles There is even a You-tube video on how to easily convert a non lube spindle to a lube spindle by installing a grease nipple/zerk Oz |
