Small engine warehouse?
I need a new engine for my 1872. M18. Purchased a 1811 to steal engine out of. But it runs so good I kinda hate to do it. Anybody have experience on the small engine warehouse 23hp briggs conversion? Like is it just basic bolt in and go type thing. The driveshaft and pto work right..? Hoping to hear with someone who has done it already.
Thank you! |
they should be able to tell you . they're the ones selling the conversion kit

There has been a few here through the years that have bought engines from them. I far as I remember, no one had any bad things to say about the engine or the conversion.

You might check this place out.

I have seen a few of SEW's engine repowers in other machines like a JD 318/420 and an IH Cub 782, and the owners seem happy with the conversion kits. It has sold me on them. I could get a Honda repower here, but I'd have to get some PTO work done on the Wheel Horse PTO to use the kit from here: https://repowerspecialists.com/produ...72-with-kohler I am having my local former Cub dealer rebuild my M18. In my 1541, not so much as a rebuild there, just replacing all the engine Gaskets. |
I bought a 18 hp Honda from them over 20 years ago for my 782! Bolted right in with no problem and still running today! I think they replaced the Honda with the Briggs. Was a good company to deal with!

Thank you everyone! Ironman that does look like a good place for engines but I want it plug and play basically.
Another whacky idea... lol 1811 engine in 1872. Goal is met... k301 engine in 1811... Just are engine mounts the same? And electric pto setup on k301 bolt on and wire? I already need rag joints also. 2 rides for sure on that and I need another set on a 1450 so might as well enough for 3 cubs. recommended rag joint source? Asking alot of you all. lol Sorry! I just need to start wrenching and finding out on my own. |
You might want to check out a place called JIMS REPAIR/JIMS TRACTOR in Hastings MN. He advertises plug and play engine kits for all makes of garden tractors.
