LT42 (2020) - won't start
Hi everyone - appreciate any pointers trying to help me diagnose and get my LT running :)
TLDR: Mower does not start unless I disconnect the grounding wire from the ignition coil. If I do that, the mower has no throttle control. Based on that, I'm assuming I am grounding out somewhere on the harness. @ironman - I have watched plenty of videos on Intellipower :beerchug: Model: 13A6A9CS056 Longer story: Was able to mow early in the season, but then the mower wouldn't restart. It'll turn, just not turn over. With planned maintenance, I replaced the filter, spark plug, etc. Still no luck. At this point, we discovered it would only start with the grounding wire disconnected on the ignition coil, but was running very high RPMs and the Intellipower throttle was not responding. I brought it into a cub cadet repair shop, and they only focused on the idle issue (found that out after the fact...). Replaced the carb. When I got home I did a quick mow (~5 min just to test her out), and all was good. 2 days later I tried to start the mower back up and back to square one. During checking things out, I pulled out the safety switches (seat, pto, reverse) and they all checked out good. Brake switch I didn't pull but was working (machine wouldn't even try to turn over until it was activated). Anyways, I'd appreciate at anything I should be checking for. I so far haven't noticed any loose or frayed wiring. Trying not to just replace parts for fun. Is this possibly the intellipower computer just on it's way out? something else? Appreciate any tips! |
Did you check wiring diagram? I believe you can find this here:

Thanks Billy, I have been using that as reference. All patterns on the key switch act as they should.
