Can you take the driveshaft apart on a cub cadet original

I just took the driveshaft out on my cub cadet original. It was making a rattling noise where the fork goes on the drive shaft. This piece has a grease fitting and seems to be worn and loose. Is there a bearing inside or does the whole piece need to be replaced? Is there a way to remove all the pieces of the driveshaft and replace the worn part that fork rides on.

Any info would help or refrences to where to buy driveshaft parts. THANKS

You might find this Service Manual handy.

I just replaced the casting that your talking about on my O. There is a roller bearing inside, and mine had apparently run dry over time causing the bearing to disintegrate, and wear away at the casting. I was extremely lucky to find a new cast piece at my local cub dealer...it is NLA, but they had one sitting on the shelf since the 70's. You need to check out the service manual that Matt posted for disassembly instructions, and inspect the inside of it...
