Well with My Deere diesels I Turn the Key wait for Glow Plug Light to go off. Turn Back off then I do that a second time and after Light goes off I start it
Now In the 782D Ops Manual it says to let the glow plugs run for 45 seconds before Starting |

Well I'm from Michigan and at "0" degrees I start the pony motor and let it run
Till the coolant pipe is warm then engage the big engine and she starts right up. If you are talking Ih, I have no IH diesels so no help there.:bigthink: On the Perkins engine, which is cold blooded, a millisecond push of the Either button and its running. But no Diesel is happy at cold temps, its just the nature of the beast. |
