1782 throwing mule drive belt
Hello all, my 1782 has a problem and I’ve having a hard time finding a solution.
If the deck moves in and angle it throws the drive belt off the deck pulley. I’ve check alignment and pulleys and they look fine but it still persists. Any ideas would be appreciated. Forgot to mention it’s a haban 60” deck. |
pictures of your setup would be helpful. you might be missing parts, have it installed/adjusted in correctly, worn out, or you could gave the wrong deck on your 1782- its quite old at this point so a mix and match may have taken place!
Oh and are you using a cub cadet belt? SN 821,060 and up takes a 325 deck, serial numbers lower (older)than that take the 374 deck. the hanger systems need to be right for deck you have as well. |
I've tried non CC belts. They work about an hour. Then they are coming off. I only use CC belts.

I have only even had the 325 deck and the mule drive lift assembly on that has a house shaped plate that centers the deck and the lift assembly. I have owned several of these and only one of them had this plate from the previous owner-it is vey important and seldom kept or reinstalled. I have had many belt issues if this is not installed. It is NLA from cub but I have never had an issue finding a used one. (HA-20256
