2008 Cub Cadet Pro Recon - Hydraulic Oil Change

Can anyone advise as to HOW to change the hydraulic oil - there are no filters on the pumps located at the rear wheels (closed system) ... I see no "vents" that are mentioned in the shop manual and acknowledge, I'm just NOT getting it ... I have a new filter and the recommended fluid to do the change --- is it as simple as draining the reservoir, changing the filter, and then purging the system after new oil has been added.

ANY comments are welcomed ...

What is the model and serial number of your ZTR? Do you have an electronic copy of the manual you can share?

Manual on CC Pro Recon

Tried to attach the manual to this message ... may be too large of a file to send ...

Model Number is: 25HP Tank Recon. 53AH8ST5050

Thanks/Mark

I took a look at the parts diagram. Looks like #17 is the drain plug and #31 is the filter.

I'd just drain it, replace the filter, refill the oil and you should be good.

Thank You

thanks Sam Mac ... CubDieselFan is also looking at it for me and reviewing the shop manual and some photos. Will listen to his viewpoint on this as well and move forward.

I had hoped and was prepared to do exactly what you described to do, but wanted to hear some level of confirmation from folks with MUCH more knowledge than I have before I did so.

Again thanks/Mark

This is exactly what I would do. Below is a video of a similar machine. This looks like a well built zero turn. I like the separate pump and motors.
