Gots Me A Whiner

My 1811 whines terribly and the sound seems to come from the lift valve not the pump so I swapped out the valve and it still whines. My 1872 whines a little but not enough to bother me but moreso when I steer. The steering cylinder went out yesterday so I swapped it out with a good one I had on a parts tractor and what do ya know the whining has nearly ceased. Now my question is is it possible the lift cylinder on the 1811 is bad and causing the whine? the deck will drop in about a half hour if left up and not running.

You could probably rebuild the cylinder and see if that fixes anything. It's just some O-rings and a lip seal. I've got a few I need to do that to when I get the time.

Once in a while mine gets a little noisy on the 782. I can't tell if it's coming from the lift valve or cylinder. I can leave mine in the raised position for several hours before it'll lower any so I've decided to live with it for now. Now that I think of it my grandpa's 782 did the same thing.

My 1811 665 Hrs in 19ys has whined since new - more now when hot than it did back then but I am used to it. Had a leaking relief valve so got a new one and replaced the filter too - now works fine.

Was creeping a bit when with the brake lock on so last night adjusted the linkage with success. The only difference I see since new is once the hydro gets hot it whines a bit more and reverse isnt as fast as it once was but still OK.

I have Kubota B21 TLB too so used SUDT (for Hytran) has anyone else done this? Seems to work fine is a tad less responsive but I can still chirp the tires!
