12hp. Kohler ?

Having just picked up a # 122 last week I figured the 1st., thing to do is to
change ALL the fluids & might as well put in a new spark plug & points.

Also I had to change the ignition switch since I broke the original key off. :Boohoo:

Buying the switch at my Cub Cadet dealer I figured I would buy everything else I needed for the tune up & fluid at my local auto store. WRONG!

Got the oil & trans., fluid NO PROBLEM. No info on their puter to cross reference the other stuff. So I go home check the owners manual. It gives the specific gap & point gap but NO reference to what type?

So I Google tune up parts for a 12hp. Kohler & spend 1/2 hour trying to get a specific numbers to get the part from a auto store, NO LUCK. 'Fluids a NO BRAINER.'

Now I search this site for the numbers. No luck but maybe its my feeble mindset in searching? :bash2:

Search some other site's, NO LUCK? :bash2:

Now I can take out the points & take them to the auto store but am hesitant to do that since I just don't wanna match a part.

Now my question?

What am I doing wrong in my search on this site for inputting a search word to get the info., I need? I know it's gotta be here but just can't find it?

What specific word do I use?

Thanks in advance & when I git'her done & power wash my new/old #122 I'll feel better in posting a few =pics which I think was a deal of a LIFE TIME. Well all but my wife? She really don't care, but thinks I'm a sick puppy with one thats ripped apart & now a second.

My inept knowledge on the puter is got to be the problem in entering the wrong something or other?

But hey a BIG THANKS to everyone :beerchug:

Copied all necessary info & now tucked away with my owners manual.
