Removing clutch retention spring without hydraulic press
 

Hi all
The clutch in my cub cadet original is making a lot of noise like theres a busted bearing in it when its in neutral and the clutch is disengaged. Is there a way for me to remove the clutch retention spring to diagnose the problem without a hydraulic press?

I have done it with a home made fixture with some PCs of angle/channel iron and longer all thread rods while clamped in the bench vise !
