1863 to 48 inch GT deck adapter parts.
 

I broke a bolt on my deck adapter, #323 I believe. The bolts that attach the 2 parts of the adapter look like they might should be shoulder bolts. I only have the one shown and it's a regular 3/8 bolt. The only parts diagram I can find is at Partstree and the don't identify the bolts. Their probably NLA but I thought I would see if I could get some guidance on what to replace them with.

Later today, I will look at one of mine and see what it has.

Under 1864 it shows both bolts as shoulder bolts.
The short one is 938-0108 1.45"
Long one is 738-3100 NA 1.76" long
I use the hardware store shoulder bolts and add a washer if needed.

I picked up 1 1/2 and a 1 3/4 shoulder bolts at the hardware yesterday. I used a flat washer on the 1 1/2 bolt. I used a grease needle to put some grease in the mule drive pulleys and it ready to put back on the tractor. Thanks

If your mule drive bearings were dry and not smooth before greasing, I would be sure to keep an eye on them. Check to see if they feel hot after mowing. If a bearing seizes up, you will probably end up replacing your pto belt.

If they feel hot, replace one or both with some good quality pulleys with smooth bearings. Bad bearings will put a strain on your engine and decrease power to the deck. Pulleys are usually welded and not serviceable, so a word of caution here. :bigthink:

If the two halves of the pulley are spot welded together . drill out the spot welds , split the pulley , remove bearing . get and instal new bearing . bolt together through the drilled out holes but use nyloc nuts
All good and you now have serviceable pulleys

From my experience, I have not been able to replace the bearings on any of the Cub mule drives that I have restored because they were solidly welded together. I have replaced bearings on some of the idler pulleys found on mower decks by drilling out the welds, replacing the bearing and bolting the two halves together.

Look for Cub Cadet, Oregon, Stens or other brand name suppliers as cheap chyna pulleys don’t hold up. Ask me how I know…:biggrin2:
