In Michigan, we call "Yooper's" people who are from the
Upper peninsula of Michigan.
-----Its an affectionate term.:beerchug:
Also they love there "Pasties" ( A form of a pot pie) Yummy!
There is a lot of Swedish/Norwegian/Laplander ancestry in the upper peninsula of Michigan..

A Yooper is a native of the Upper Peninsula (UP) of the state of Michigan. The UP was part of Wisconsin, but awarded to Michigan to settle dispute with Ohio over Toledo.
