Hello All Fall is approaching fast! Almost harvest time here in Indiana. I have been Degreasing Cleaning & Sanding my 1969 Cub73 for primer & paint & while doing so I found a steel rod under the front portion of the frame that pulls up & snaps in place.
Any idea what this lever is for I've owned this tractor for 25 years & never noticed it before lol.

On the front, under the grill frame?
Only thing I can think of would be the quick attach lever for mule drives, blade sub frames and such.

Your mule drive locks into that along with snow thrower and front blade and other attachments.

Bracket support assy. For locking snowblower & (mower deck ) frame in. New system came out 1967 with the 104 & 124 .
