mower deck clipping diverter
Hi all, in the middle of rebuilding 2 pin on decks for a model 70.
One came to me with the diverter ducting that directs clipping long gone and the other was there, but in replacing very rusty carriage bolts it snapped it 2 pieces. Is it worth going through the trouble of refabricating this bent piece that's supposed to direct the clippings or is it negligeable enough I can just throw out the broken pieced and not worry about making a replacement? I've been trying to search anything related to the early decks on here and the few pics on here seem to have them long gone. |

Here is a nos one that is a 42" deck though, they do help to remove the grass and fly it out the chute.

Personally, I have had and used Cub decks that did, and did not have them.
I cannot honestly say that I could tell any difference as far as cutting or discharge goes. When they are there, they may help prevent buildup of grass along the trailing edge, but that's about it. Cut your grass as needed and save fabrication for a winter project. Just my :TwoCents: |
