Kohler 23hp Command engine swap to LTX1045?
 

I have a LTX1045 with a blown single cylinder Kohler Courage engine. I would like to replace it with a twin cylinder. I found a decent deal on a LT1046 that has a 2 cylinder Kohler Command engine. Will this work on the LTX?

I have seen a few postings of 2 cylinder Briggs being put on the LTX and looks like the main thing is modifying the gas tank to make room for the engine to clear. Would it be the same for the Kohler Command engine or is there anything else that would prevent it from fitting?

I have no experience in that engine swap.

I have swapped a bunch of lawn mower engines and never had to modify the gas tank.
Usually the hardest part is the exhaust and throttle/ choke cables.
If you have a complete parts tractor the swap should be strait across stupid easy.

LTX1045 has gas tank under hood, LT1046 has gas tank under seat.
He is asking if the larger engine from the LT1046 will fit under the LTX1045 tank. IDK.
