Introducing myself and my cadets

My name is Kevin and I'm from MA. I was born and grew up in the city but after buying my first home with an acre of grassy land, I got into tractors. I started with the newer stuff but recently picked up two older cubs. A 73 and a 149 that was missing a lot of stuff and still an ongoing project.

I've always been mechanically inclined so it helped getting these things running again.
Here are some pics.

absolutely! my zero turn deck is rotting away with only 350 hours while the deck of the 149 sat in a field for 10 years and it doesnt have a single rust hole. frickin solid still.

Had a 2002 MTD Made Cub Cadet 2206 Traded In 2018 for an XT3 GSX, The 48-inch deck on that 2206 was in practically Immaculate condition and so was the Hydraulic Tiller. But My wife and I Both take care of our equipment. The 2206 was Her tractor. She didn't use it as Much Between My Army retirement in 2002 and 2005. But when I was re-called as a Civilian Military advisor Between 2005 and 2012 She did most of the Mowing and Garden work with the 2206 Only issue we ever had was the 1st day I brought it home she ran over a Landscape rake and 1 rear tire had to be replaced. I will say the MTD cubs do require more Maintenance, than the old IH Cub Cadets. But if you stick with it, the MTD/Cub Machines can last just as long, even these modern ones:ThumbsUp:
