LT 1050 Starter Dragging
 

A friend of mine was going to scrap this tractor because he couldn't get it to start after replacing the coils, fuel pump, spark plugs, and battery. Once I got it the starter was fried so not wanting to put much money into this I bought an aftermarket China starter. It turned over like it should but the starting problem was just simply a clogged fuel tank. Once I cleaned the tank out it ran very well. I'm not a fan of the newer stuff but I was surprised how well it ran, cut, and drove. I used it about three months and the starter began to drag. All connections were good, good ground, I adjusted the valves, but still dragging. After researching this issue I found this problem was common on the 23HP Courage due to the starter that CC put in these were underpowered and never lasted very long. My question is, what is the updated starter for these. Since this tractor performed higher than my expectations I'm willing to buy the CC starter but I don't want to buy the same starter that has been a problem. I also heard of a 3rd generation starter is what the replacement for these are. Any help or part number would be appreciated. Thanks
