Another Marketplace score on the cheap. The M12 runs well. It drives well. Came with a solid 44C deck/mule drive, and solid plow. Needs electrical work, and lots of cosmetics.

One of the first things I have addressed was the missing knob and cam on the implement height adjustment. The original knob's threaded part was broken off flush. After an unsuccessful attempt to extract the broken piece, I drilled it out and rethreaded it 3/8-24.

The hydro fluid looked to have had been recently changed, BUT a FRAM PH16 engine oil filter was used instead of the proper Cub hydraulic system filter 923-3014. I removed and replaced the filter using the proper Cub unit. The hydro seemed to have worked fine even with the wrong filter. The 782 I am doing servicing on also had the same PH16 FRAM filter on it. That hydro was also quiet and responsive.

I've used the WIX equivalent filter w/ no problems. Probably better than the CCC one, tbh.

Wouldn't be surprised if Champ Labs made the OEM one (they make Walmart's, AC Delco's, and a variety of others).

I just stocked up on SuperTech for my Kohler/Briggs oil filters. USA made, good enough for a mower w/ annual changes, and under $4.

I just purchased 6 Wix 51410 transmission filters from RockAuto (923-3014 equivalent) for $8.13 each. My local O'Reilly wanted $19.99 for the same Wix filter and Cub Cadet wants $17.83. It's crazy how high prices are getting.

All filters are not of the same quality/specs. Even when manufactured in the same facility. I know for a fact this can be true. Only OE filters on my vehicles and equipment.

Ooops, sorry 1711, I think we derailed your thread.

Looks like this 1210 now has a good home and someone who will take care of it.

I use AC Delco on my old truck, but I fully realize WIX/NAPA Gold is a much better filter.

Just how it goes sometimes. :bigthink:

1711, what's giving away a 1211? $200?

1711Cub 04-07-2023 11:06 AM

$100 for the tractor, extra set of wheels with good chains, a good 44C deck, and a solid complete 42" plow. :beerchug:

I washed it today getting off years of grime. Also replaced the air filter and changed the engine oil.
